At this stage (Friday evening) the show is ON.
Wings over the Illawarra, Berry market day and the VW show have been cancelled. So more for us hopefully.

Berry Bike Show 15 Empty Re: Berry Bike Show 15

Berry Bike Show
The weather wasn’t looking too good and after a month of rain most other events in the region were cancelled. BUT NOT OURS! In fact Maria was heard on the radio in Western Australia saying she was off to the bike show. Just overcast at home but was getting worse the further north we drove. Berry had just a light drizzle. Due to the inclement weather we couldn’t use the grassed area we normally use. The bitumen car park was to be used instead. Not knowing how many bikes to cater for wasn’t a problem. I thought we’d be lucky to get 10 the way the weather has been so small sections were marked for the 12 categories. Phil and the crew were busy preparing in the BBQ area. Bill and Belinda had the rego tent set up at the entrance. The raffle prizes and trophies were displayed undercover in the BBQ area. Maria was doing here usual headless chook routine and worried the PA hadn’t arrived. A phone call soothed her nerves, the PA arriving at about 9:30.
Time to rattle the donation tins and plug the raffles. Quite a few lookers were very generous in their donations with notes instead of gold coins. $868 was raised in donations and $418 in raffles.
Bikes were slowly arriving and by about 11:00 we had 60 entrants ranging from a Mini Moto racer to not one but two Honda CBX1000 six’s. The quality of most bikes was excellent (even the unrestored). A few of the bikes were started up for the crowd to hear and a few owners gave a spiel about their bikes.
Judging started at 12:00 and the presentation was at 1:00.
The Winners were.
Classic British:1955 G9 Matchless Steve Ausell
Classic American: 1947 Indian Roadmaster Chief Ken Watson
Classic Asian: 1983 CB 1100F Allan Parkes
Classic European: 1970 Ducati Scrambler Phil Favero
Ladies: 2007 Honda CBR 600RR Caz Mackay
Unrestored: 1970 Honda CB175 Bill Mago
Competition: 1967 Egli Vincent Luis Gallur
Sidecar: 2013 Ural T Stuart Harwood
Dirt Bike: 1979 PE Suzuki Dave Evison
Junior Bike: 1970 Gemini AG 175 Chris Osborne
Modern Bike: 2000 Suzuki GSX1300R Hyabusa John Ravallion
Oldest Bike: 1946 Harley Davidson WL Fess Parker
Bike of the Show: 1979 Honda CBX1000 John Fretton
Congratulations to the winners and to all the entrants, thanks for making it a great show in unpleasant conditions.
Thanks to the Show Committee and all the members who helped make OUR show one of the best to be seen. Berry Bowling Club for allowing us to use the car park and the show to go on. And to the sponsors who donated items for the raffles.
Havenlee School is the beneficiary this year to the tune of $1500 being $1200 proceeds of the show and $300 from the club.
Hoping for a bigger and better (and dryer) show in 2016.
